Advocate 04:38
Advocate The definition is vague It really could apply to anyone When conditions change Tiny deviations get explained away Here they come again… A different kind of connection, balance need and desire Always on but only present half the time Here they come again.. And we let them in We just let them in Sign off my limitations, tell me all that I am Words spoken by the child will just echo the man, Here they come again Your weakness or my strength, it’s just the same We let them in again (here they come) But if you think we’ll step outside Yesterday’s unwritten laws are on the rise

Amateur 08:00
Amateur I just needed you to know I gave much more than I intended Been digging me a hole With every step the more I fall. I wanted to clear my mind, reinvent my view And lost my half-life with you. Well, not even close to half - alternately in between Next to rapture and a walking death. Nothing turns out the way you plan Nothing is perfect in your world Crash to the ground & pick up where you land Nothing to win, no-one to tell I wandered inside your mind, thought I knew it so well Start of a dozen sleepless nights. I’ve covered this ground before today but rarely so near Walk with the gods, right now I’m flying . Nothing is ever left to chance Movements are mapped and planned to show One way or the other You know I’d rather… …Any harsh reaction to none at all Any fear of rejection is never as great as losing all control (I know, I know). “Tonight’s the night,” some old git said And he may be right But in another sense And in a different light From a different time You’ll find you’ve got to rise before you decline. Your means of destruction are so polite A flick of the wrist and in the blink of an eye Your silence says more than I wanted to know I can read it in your smile. When you wanted anything from me It didn’t matter I had nowhere else to be No great effort just to sacrifice my time Every minute, every moment was so sublime. Every morning, every waking afternoon Second guessing every feeling is all I do Every instinct that has ever paid my way, Won’t protect me or help me hide from the truth.

Was Once 05:24
Was Once Ahead or behind The deafening silence Until you hear that voice There’s comfort in being alone The first or the last Every possible future You can never tell When it’s gone or yet to arrive We may never see a sign Primitive sounds will disappear into the ether Across all space and time Someone has to be the first through the filter Defeating ourselves Keeping our feet anchored Burning every chance Before we get off the floor

Icon 05:56
Icon Sideways glimpses from a distance Admired from afar Traffic soothing constant heartbeat The only light from stars The sunset burned our eyes But if you waited it would turn sublime Hemmed in by the waves of fields Catch the salt-air breeze Suspended in our solitude By lines of guard-rail trees It glittered like a prize The centre of our universe at night For legendary nights on end The gates we opened wide Strangers, lovers, friends descended To try on others’ lives Performing all the time Crowds are easier than eye-to-eye Ghosts are all that remain now Dreams like columns fell Where once an icon stood so tall Now it’s broken like a spell They left as they’d arrived Unaware that night a city died Shimmering pools and pulsing lights The ocean below, consumed by the night The parties we held Rivers of wine Pleasure and sin and primal cries Promises made Arms open wide Deals would be done just as the money went dry Stole what they could, escaped with their lives Never to tell… Palace on fire

Loner 05:39
Loner I wish I could write Tell you all of my faults And if I could write You’d know all of my thoughts No page would waste a word so unkind Restraining the intent of every line And when I fall I wish I could rise You make it look so easy all the time You’d think that by now I’d have built my disguise Clever words can sound so contrived Every background noise Eyes that look straight through Empty chairs and missing all the cues I should have played along for a while I never came along for the ride You make it look so easy all the time

Fedor [pt 1] 05:36
Fedor Pt 1 All I know You’ve given me Try to grow But limiting Memories are not my own Experience is bought and sold The poetry you gifted me Is it even mine to speak? Tethered safely to the ground The weight of dead men holds me down Close my eyes so I can see Dreaming that you’ll notice me Distance time and memory Paint-by-numbers poetry Creator watches over me

Solastalgia 03:51
Solastalgia If you only know just where to look Amongst the bones and over barren dirt Hope springs Fortunes reversed Life emerges under broken earth Charred remains a temporary curse Stolen things Will be returned Fumbling for words Watching for miracles that never come Self-preservation like every other day Diverting attention Turn advice away It’s happened before Electrical storms roll in across the bay Morning darkness dust lost in a haze It’s happening more Finding your voice And making it heard Although this is hardly the time Holding your nerve Even when you’re told There’s nothing to see here There’s nothing to see here There’s nothing to see here when you cover your eyes Divine intervention won’t bring rain from the sky

Can’t See the Stars Had a good idea My head is full of noise I can always wait For a better day All I ever needed Time to start again Stop to catch my breath Lost in middle distance Change comes too late All I ever needed Is all I’ve ever known Push them all away Quite content to stay On my own It won’t change my mind I’ve spent too much time On my own Here in one moment Space and time collide Take a second offer Might be we all have All I have believed in Now I can’t see the stars Push them all away Quite content to stay On my own It won’t change my mind I’ve spent too much time On my own
